ADA POLICY:
1. ADA guests can request an ADA sticker from the ticketing booths or the info booth. ADA stickers identify you to Staff, Crew and Security and indicates that you may need additional assistance. It also identifies that you have ADA access. Please note that the ADA Sticker does not provide admission; you must have a valid ticket.
2. Are companion passes available? An ADA companion is a person who assists an attendee with a disability with one or more daily activities, such as communicating, toileting, or eating, that the attendee would perform himself or herself but for the disability. Fanboy Expo can provide a wristband/ sticker that identifies the companion. The companion DOES need to purchase a ticket to the event. If the companion has an attendee who has purchased a VIP, they do not need to buy that same ticket type to assist them while at the event. They may purchase a lower-level ticket. Please pick up the companion wristband to allow the caregiver to assist the attendee in the VIP lines while at the event. The wrist band or sticker can be picked up at the ticketing booth OR the info booth. Only one companion pass per attendee.
3. Service Dogs are allowed? Service dogs are welcome at the KCC and OCCC. According to state and federal law, a “service animal” is any dog that is trained, or is in training, to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability; and performs work or tasks, or is in training to perform work or tasks, that are directly related to the individual’s disability. Under the ADA, service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or always tethered.
The dog must remain under the owners control and be toilet trained at all times. Failure to do so or complaints of the animals behavior will result in the animals removal.
Emotional support animals are not allowed.
4. Quiet Room -The quiet room will be available on the 3rd level near Package Pickup. This will be for ADA guests and their companions, mothers with small children or nursing mothers. ADULTS WITHOUT SMALL OR NURSING CHILDREN MUST HAVE AN ADA STICKER AND/OR COMPANION PASS. ADA and Companion items can be received at the INFO or Ticketing booths.
5. ADA PANEL ACCESS – the ADA group will be seated first. We will do our best to keep groups together; however, if space is limited, you may be asked to limit your group to just one additional person. If the panel requires a ticket to enter, the same is expected for ADA and their companions.
*Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, so ADA seating may not be available if you wait until the last minute to be seated.
6. ADA ACCESS for Autographing and Photo Ops. Guests are typically limited on time and to be fair for all attendees, we cannot allow any fan to bypass any autographing or photo op lines. VIP Passes are available for faster autograph lines. Lines are wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers but if you cannot wait in the line, we recommend arranging to have someone within your group wait in line for you. You must have an ADA companion wristband to hold an ADA attendees place in line. When your spot reaches the front of the line, you may re-join for your signing.
7. Photo ops are first come first serve. We recommend arriving 10 minutes before your
scheduled photo op.
8. Is the Convention Center fully accessible? Is there ADA parking available on-site?
The Convention Center is fully accessible. To plan ahead, go onto the Convention Center website where the event will be hosted to see a full map. ADA parking availability varies per center. Please research according to your needs.
9. Are wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, canes or chairs available? Neither Fanboy Expo nor the convention centers have ADA equipment available. Please make sure to plan ahead if you equire any of these items.
